Was the taxi strike justified?

Simone Sacks said,"That was not a valid reason to strike because it has a negative effect on the economy. I think people just go on strike because they are frustrated by other things."

With the recent taxi strike, many commuters were left stranded without transport and some motorists could not go to work because the roads were blockaded.

Santaco Gauteng chairperson Ralph Jones said the taxi industry protested because some members of the industry have been hard hit by the high interest rates and some have been blacklisted due to payments of R15 000 per month over 72 months being required for their vehicles.
