Bedfordview grade 2 gymnast soars

The Grade Two pupil also achieved her Junior Colours for Rhythmic Gymnastics this year.

Katherine Deacon, a Grade Two pupil at St Andrew’s School for Girls, has competed in three Novice Club Invitational competitions this season for level 3 rhythmic gymnastics.

This level comprises a ball routine and a free dance routine.

Deacon initially won a gold medal in Johannesburg while also scoring the highest out of all the age groups.

She went on to attain silver in Polokwane and recently, on Youth Day, gold in Brits.

Deacon also earned a gold medal and u-8 first place in the regional qualifiers – once again achieving her Junior Colours for Rhythmic Gymnastics this year.

She represented Central Gauteng on June 24 at the Zone Festival.
