Hijacked truck from Botswana recovered, margarine load missing

A white Hino 300 refrigerated truck travelling from Botswana, laden with margarine, hijacked on Thursday, April 13 was recovered a day later in Isando with its cargo of margarine missing.

The EMPD Loss Control & Tracing Unit members found the truck at the intersection of Isando and Monteer roads around 11.30am on Friday.

The recovered vehicle was taken to the SAPS pound at Van Ryn Deep in Benoni.

Investigations are underway to obtain information that will lead to the arrest of the persons involved in the hijacking and theft of the stolen cargo.
