New innovations to boost your skin’s appearance

Different types of skin require different types of treatment to keep it looking healthy.

Mesotherapy, in all its forms, has for many years been used in an attempt to rejuvenate or ‘boost’ our skin.

We all, male and female, would love to keep smoother, firmer, more radiant skin even as we age.

Skin boosting injections have been used to improve the skin’s quality by boosting hydration levels deep within the skin and increasing its smoothness, elasticity and firmness.

Often though, especially in the past, the injection of a combinations of vitamins only into the skin didn’t give long lasting results, sometimes only for a few days, requiring frequent repeat treatments.

With time, as technology in general but most definitely in the aesthetic industry, more advanced skin boosting techniques have been developed.

Most recently, the skin booster launched by Juvederm has changed the course of these types of treatments providing results for up to nine months with a single treatment.

It is designed to deliver deep skin hydration and stimulate collagen production.

This means increasing hydration levels within the skin to deliver lasting moisture and improvements on the skin’s surface and reduction in fine and criss-cross lines.

This is especially useful during the winter months.

This technology, which is new in SA, allows for the hylauronic acid based skin booster, to be a soft and smooth product while combining blends of different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid.

This blending of different molecular weights contributes to the duration, or lasting effects.

The treatment involves a soft gel being injected into the skin by a trained medical practitioner, to improve:

  •  Hydration
  •  Smoothness
  •  Elasticity

It is successfully used on the face, neck, chest and hands.

Your body will naturally gradually break down the skin booster over time.

To sustain the result it is recommended to have regular maintenance treatments, perhaps every six to nine months.

Some patients may require a second treatment at four weeks especially if their skin is very aged or damaged.

Boosting your skin offers a natural looking improvement in skin quality and elasticity that develops over a four week period.

Skin boosters are so versatile and can be used on all skin types and are excellent even for people in their 20’s who want to prevent aging and improve hydration but don’t want other more intense treatments as well in mature skin.

The procedure is made comfortable as topical anaesthetic is applied prior, some patients may feel some discomfort.

Within one to two hours (sometimes shorter), any redness will disappear and hence this type of treatment doesn’t require downtime.

Having a healthy Skin is not only important for looking more youthful and feeling confident but will help strengthen the skin against further damage.
