Over 700 learners take part in Saheti Winter Sports Festival

U-10 netball players of Edenglen Primary School and Saheti Primary School looking up to the goals.

Saheti Primary School‘s 13th annual Winter Sports Festival was held on June 10, with eight schools, with a total of 720 netball and soccer players, taking part.

Pam Lerm, organiser of this year’s festival, said the event catered for learners in the u-10 to u-13 age groups.

“This festival is a nice way to end the sports season,” said Lerm.

The winning netball teams were Hurlyvale Primary School in the u-10 category and Saheti in the u-11 and u-12 categories.

The gold medal winner for the open team category was Hurlyvale; Edenglen Primary took silver.

The overall best netball school was Hurlyvale Primary.

The winning soccer teams were again Hurlyvale Primary School in the u-10 category, Saheti in the u-11 group and Bedfordview Primary School in the u-12 category.

The gold medal winner for the open team category was Edenglen; Hurlyvale took silver.

The overall best soccer school was Saheti.
