Should protesters barricade roads?

Loray Nelson said, "No, it affects too many people in the country and they can’t get to work."

The recent taxi protest by Gauteng taxi operators left thousands of commuters stranded after the main routes between Johannesburg and Pretoria were blocked.

The NEWS asked readers if they thought protesters should be allowed to barricade roads in order to get their point across.

Vicky Dagnel said, “No, they upset everyone, it’s ridiculous. Children can’t go to school. Come on, what’s wrong with them?”

Robby Venturini said, “No, it affects other people. Everyone should have a constitutional right to express their opinion, but it should not interfere with everybody else’s lives.”
