The two suspects who were arrested in Bedfordview.

Another charge of possession of a stolen motor vehicle has been added to the charge sheet of two suspects aged 34 and 44 who were arrested on June 16.

The two men were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Kloof Street, Bedfordview.

After numerous failed attempts to stop the suspects by undercover JMPD, a chase from Cyriledene to Bedfordview ensued.

“The two suspects lost control of their vehicle and overturned it,” said Bedfordview SAPS spokesperson Capt Andrè de Jager.

“Officers managed to arrest one suspect as he tried to run away from the scene, while the other suspect was in the vehicle,” de Jager explained.

At the time of the arrest, police were still investigating if the suspects’ silver Mercedes Benz had been stolen.

Both suspects will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court for charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
