Heller-Stern to speak about book

The Modderfontein Library has been part of the community for over 40 years.

Community members can look forward to a meeting with South African author Pamela Heller-Stern.

Pamela will visit the Modderfontein Library’s coffee morning on October 27 at the Thornhill Estate community centre.

Pamela will introduce her latest novel, Who’s Knocking on my Door?

The novel opens with the dramatic story of a young South African soldier who fought in North Africa in World War II and who was shipped to Italy as prisoner-of-war.

Before retiring, Pamela lectured in English Literature at the University of the Witwatersrand at the age of 22 and completed her Doctorate at Wits at the age of 25.

Since her retirement 10 years ago, she writes full-time.

In 2018, her novel Have a Heart will be published in the UK.

At the coffee morning Pamela’s books will be on sale after the talk.

She will donate 10 per cent of the sales as well as copies of two of her novels to the Friends of Modderfontein Library.

The event will start at 9.30am.
