Cleveland SAPS arrested a 24-year-old man for kidnapping a six-year-old boy.

The suspect was arrested at Orange Farm on October 26.
According to the station’s spokesperson, Captain Johan Jordaan, the suspect allegedly abducted a boy in Malvern.

“The abductor contacted the sister of the six-year-old demanding a ransom for the safe release of the child. The father of the child, however, opened a case of kidnapping at the station,” said Jordaan.
“After investigations by the team, the child was found unharmed at Orange Farm. He was taken to the doctor for examination and was later reunited with his family,” he said.
Jordaan said further arrests are expected.
Station Commander Colonel Bongani Dlamini welcomed the arrest.
He also commended the members for their effort, hard work and extra hours worked to find the child.
