This is the second year in a row that the Edenvale SPCA has benefitted from the potjiekos competition
“Last year we partnered up with Terry Commerford from Our Place and it was a success, so we decided to try it again,” said Sammy.
As animal lovers, Sammy and Darynn decided to organise the event to try to assist Edenvale’s SPCA.
“It was very successful. So many community members and companies from Edenvale got involved and assisted us.”
Amongst the donations were 300 blankets, some handmade.
The blankets and food will be put to good use in the upcoming months to keep the animals fed and warm.
The funds donated will be used to cover the general running costs of the SPCA and for maintenance.
“The donation is really fantastic; it is awesome,” said Maritta.
“It really does help us as we can now focus on caring for the animals and rescuing those in need.”
