Representatives from the Siyaqhuba Mayoral Outreach Programme were in Bedfordview on June 8 to address community issues.

The first problem area was Gillooly’s Farm where Ward 20 Clr Jill Humphreys raised her concerns about the property.

She said the park is a valuable asset but that the area is neglected along with the buildings on the farm.

“Residents do park runs on the weekends along the river which is gauged with erosion,” said Humphreys.

She said the main issue at Gillooly’s Farm is maintenance and water pollution due to no sanitation.

“We can pre-empt this, but it needs to be done soon,” said Humphreys.
