The Modderfontein Reserve seeks to protect indigenous fauna and flora while also providing an attractive open space within the urban fabric where visitors can come and enjoy its natural beauty without travelling too far from home.
The 275-hectare private park is the second-largest private park in Gauteng and includes portions of the Modderfontein Spruit, a number of dams, grassland and hills.
The reserve is situated on Arden Road in Modderfontein and is open from 6am to 6pm, Tuesdays to Sundays.
Conservation fees are charged at R30 for adults and R15 for children.
