WARNING: Mayor condemns the use of City of Ekurhuleni’s name in money-making scam targeting entrepreneurs

The City of Ekuruhuleni’s mayor condemned what seems to be a scam targeting entrepreneurs.

Executive mayor, Clr Mzwandile Masina noted a poster circulating on social media about an event allegedly organised for entrepreneurs using the name of the city as a sponsor.

The organisers allege a partnership with the City of Ekurhuleni and “calls on suppliers and entrepreneurs” to partake in the event at a fee.

Masina’s office announced that an investigation is underway to trace the organisers to determine whether any official in Ekurhuleni consented to the use of the city’s brand.

All these activities are done at no cost to the public. Entrepreneurship is highly encouraged and supported by the city and any organisation which seeks to exploit aspirant entrepreneurs will be exposed.”
