It’s called spring cleaning for a reason, with the seasonal change comes a great opportunity to de-clutter your life, scrub down your home, pack away items you don’t need and give away items you no longer use. How can you make your home is fresh and ready for spring? Here are some useful life hacks:
1. Make sure you have some lemons handy
To get rid of stubborn water stains on your shower, sink or bathtub handles, use a lemon. Cut the lemon in half and rub it on the stained area, wipe it down and you’ll see amazing results.
2. Toothpaste is essential for your cleaning endeavours
For those watermarks that people leave on wooden or glass tables, toothpaste seems to yield the best results in getting rid of the stains. Simply apply it onto a cloth and rub the affected area until you start seeing the stains disappear.
3. Coca-cola is the ultimate toilet cleaner
It sounds really bizarre but lots of people swear by the cleaning powers of Coca-Cola especially when it comes to toilets. Give your toilet a revamp by pouring a full can around the rim so that it fully coats the bowl, let it sit for at least an hour to allow the acids in the soda to break down the stains. Scrub with a toilet brush, then flush.
4. Wrap a towel around your broom to dust those high walls
If you want to thoroughly dust your house from top to bottom and do not have the money or time to invest in a long feather duster, just substitute it with a towel wrapped around the broom. This way you can reach those corners that are hard to reach.
5. Vinegar could be your best bet to clean door and window tracks
Sometimes the stains that build up in the crevices of window and door tracks are very difficult to clean. Dab some white spirit or grape vinegar onto a cloth or brush and start scrubbing. The results are worth the not-so-pleasant smell.
