A colourful vision with Modderfontein Breakfast Club

Ofhani Rapetswane, Modderfontein Breakfast Club’s president for the 2018/2019 year shared his colourful vision at the club meeting on September 8.

He told members how the club has the vision and goal to reach the highest that a Toastmasters club can during a year, which is to be President’s Distinguished Status and how this is only possible if members are reaching their dreams and goals during the year.

Toastmasters provide a supportive and encouraging learning environment where members can improve their communication and leadership skills while also developing their self-confidence.

It is the perfect organisation to work in and get feedback on speeches and presentations as well as developing impromptu skills which are vital for day to day communication within business and personal life.

Karen Armour won the award for the best speaker for the morning.

During the meeting, three speakers took to the stage with prepared speeches. Karen Armour with the title “Finding the joy”, Kghothatso Teffu with “The power of words” and Chantalee Hiles with “The law of the elastic band”.

During the feedback session, the speakers are given evaluations in a positive manner and given feedback on what they did well and areas of improvement for their future speeches.

Judith Taylor (a visiting Toastmaster from UWP in Bryanston), Richard Armour and Ute Hartman provided this feedback and Ute was awarded as best evaluator for the morning.
