SAPS launches intervention programme

Gauteng SAPS launched a divine intervention programme at the Alleluia Ministries International in Sandton on September 14.

The programme was launched under the leadership of the deputy provincial commissioner Major General Max Masha.

Gauteng SAPS clusters consist of Joburg East, West, North and Central.

Jeppe SAPS spokesperson Captain Richard Munyayi said pastors from different churches attended the event.

“Pastor Alph Lukau of the Alleluia Ministries International gave a sermon and prayed for the leadership of the police that included the deputy provincial commissioner, cluster commanders, station commanders, police officers and other members from the SAPS during the event,” he said.

Munyayi said the stations under the clusters will embark on crime prevention campaigns where they will visit schools, churches, taxi ranks, shopping malls, liquor outlets and other community groups to address issues relating to domestic violence, prostitution, substance abuse, rape, crime against women and children, human trafficking and murder.

“Churches will be invited to visit police stations to have prayer sessions and police officers will also visit churches in their policing precinct to attend their services.
